Governmental Affairs Committee

Purpose

To vigorously represent the interests of Sun City at both the state as well as the local governmental levels.

Responsibilities

The Governmental Affairs Committee is responsible for the following:

• The on-going review of daily reports on activities at the Capitol during the winter when the Legislature is in session,
• The development and presentation of recommendations to the Board of Directors either to support or oppose bills that affect Sun City,
• The timely evaluation of proposed new county ordinances and amendments to existing ones, and
• Representation of Sun City interests before the County Board of Supervisors when needed to plead Sun City’s case.
