Planning & Elections Committee

Purpose

To provide solutions and programs to address the on-going and evolving needs of Sun City and its homeowners/residents.

Responsibilities

The Planning Committee is responsible for the following:

• In concert with SCHOA staff members, enforcing homeowner compliance (including legal action) with Sun City deed restrictions,
• Investigating occasional requests for a variation from deed restrictions,
• Keeping the Board of Directors and SCHOA staff current on county ordinances,
• Working with the Maricopa County Department of Planning & Development to resolve any conflicts between ordinances and deed restrictions,
• Monitoring compliance with senior overlay requirements for retirement communities established by federal, state and county governments, and
• Suggesting legislation to set standards for the physical appearance of Sun City and to provide for enforcement of those standards.
