SCHOA Goals / Mission
As Sun City grew, so grew its
influence in the Valley of the Sun. SCHOA expanded its
activities to direct the voice of the community. Then, as the West Valley
burgeoned and Sun City’s importance in county thinking dwindled, SCHOA again
redirected its strength toward protecting our community from being overrun
by this growth.
Note how
these diverse activities fit within the following Mission Statement,
developed years ago by the Board of Directors to both direct and limit SCHOA’s
efforts:
Mission
Statement
-
Assist members with problems they bring
to our attention concerning their homes and grounds;
-
Create
and/or support programs which benefit the entire community, specifically
regarding its safety, security, quality of life, and property values;
-
Serve as advocate for Sun City residents
with county and state officials on matters affecting all residents;
-
In the absence of a recognized political
entity, to represent Sun City as a community in political and
inter-governmental activities in the West Valley, and to earn the respect
of leaders there; and
-
Generate sufficient income to carry out and support SCHOA programs.
