SCHOA operates under the guidance of
an eleven member Board of Directors elected by its membership, usually
to three year terms. The board convenes on the fourth Tuesday of the
month at 9:00 am, from September through June in the large meeting room in the
SCHOA Building, and the meeting is open to the public.
The annual meeting takes place in
January at a place and time posted in local papers and email
notification is sent to members providing us with email addresses.

Because it has no legally constituted
government, Sun City needs some organization to monitor political conditions
that could affect all residents. A rural community in 1963 when
SCHOA was
founded, Sun City today is a suburb surrounded by growth — a quiet island of
retired isolation moving at a more relaxed pace than its neighbors. To
maintain its importance in the West Valley, SCHOA has undertaken the
leadership role in intra-community relationships. This is a working Board
that functions through committees.
