Environmental & Water Resources Committee
|
The
Environmental & Water
Resources Committee meets on the
first Tuesday of each month at
10:00am in the SCHOA building.
Pat Herrmann is chairman of this
committee.
SCHOA
members are invited to
attend these meetings and discuss
any environmental or consumer
protection issues, including expan-
sion of recycling beyond paper,
cardboard, glass and aluminum
cans. Working with the Sun City
Lions Club, Sun City may soon be
moving toward being able to
collect both plastic containers and
food cans at three drop off sites.
Note: there are NO plans in the works for mandatory
recycling or for expanding curbside recycling beyond newspapers, at this
time.

Of on-going concern to all homeowners are air and noise
pollution, flood control, and toxic waste disposal. This committee
works in concert with state, local
and private agencies to assure maximum protection of your property.
Maintaining water resources adequate in quality,
quantity, and reliability at a reasonable cost is a constant battle.
The committee meets regularly with representatives of Arizona-American Water
Company and Arizona Department of Water Resources.
The committee promotes water conservation measures, investigates and reports on Sun
City’s water needs and ways to meet them, and keeps a constant vigil to
assure the integrity of our water supply.
